I am passionate about learning, literacy and the development of the literacy learner. I have served as an interventionist in early childhood and elementary education, as a presenter, and as a literacy consultant. I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree in literacy, learning, and culture at Texas Women’s University.

I am knowledgeable about the literacy process as a complex interactive process whose construction is determined by the social and cultural context. I am a careful observer of student construction of the literacy process in order to teach responsively, thus guaranteeing an opportunity for each child to thrive in their democratic right to literacy.
